Program Description

Drive to Saghmosavank, a 13th–century monastic complex located in the village of Saghmosavank. It is situated atop the precipitous gorge carved by the Kasagh river. Next, drive to Amberd fortress located 2,300 meters above sea level, on the slopes of Mount Aragats at the confluence of the Arkashen and Amberd rivers in the province of Aragatsotn.  Continue to Byurakan village where Byurakan observatory is situated. Visit Byurakan Studio and participate in paper making master class (approx. 1 hour). Instead of materials used in ancient times, modern wastes, will be used, while Armenian okra will be used as a gluing material, instead of crushed peels of mulberry-tree.
