Program Description
Discover two of China's most iconic attractions on a full-day excursion combining a visit to the Great Wall of China with a stop at Beijing Olympic Park. This tour offers the perfect opportunity to experience both the country's rich history and its impressive modern architecture.
Your journey begins with a drive to the Mutianyu section, widely regarded as one of the most beautiful and best-preserved parts of the Great Wall of China. Surrounded by forested hills and breathtaking scenery, this section offers a quieter atmosphere and spectacular views. As you walk along the wall, you will admire the impressive fortifications winding across the mountain ridges and pass the historic watchtowers that once protected the imperial capital and royal tombs from invading forces.
After your walk, you will descend by cable car (included), offering a completely different perspective of this remarkable UNESCO World Heritage Site and the surrounding mountain landscapes.
You will then enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, where you can sample traditional Chinese cuisine.
In the afternoon, continue to Beijing Olympic Park, built for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games. A stop to will admire the park's two most iconic landmarks from the outside: the National Stadium, better known as the Bird's Nest, with its striking steel lattice design, and the Water Cube (National Aquatics Centre), renowned for its innovative architecture inspired by the structure of water bubbles.
This excursion is the perfect combination of history, spectacular scenery and contemporary architecture, allowing you to discover two fascinating sides of Beijing in a single day.
