Program Description
In the heart of Copenhagen, you’ll find an amusement park that has been entertaining visitors since 1843. Tivoli Gardens is the second-oldest amusement park in the world, combining more than 180 years of history with an atmosphere that takes on a completely different character every winter. Thousands of lights, decorated pathways and seasonal stalls transform the gardens into one of the most atmospheric winter settings in the Danish capital.
In winter, simply let Tivoli’s pathways lead the way. Twinkling lights illuminate the gardens, while the scent of pine trees fills the air, and stalls offering seasonal treats await among the decorations. As the evening draws in, the surroundings become even more enchanting - especially after dark, when thousands of lights take centre stage.
Tivoli, however, is much more than a typical winter market. It is a historic amusement park that takes on a seasonal look for several months, combining its long-standing traditions with Copenhagen’s winter atmosphere. You’re not simply strolling between stalls and decorations, but through a place that has been part of the city’s history since the 19th century.
A winter evening at Tivoli means the scent of pine in the air, warming seasonal treats, thousands of twinkling lights and more than 180 years of history all around you. It is this combination that makes Tivoli so much more than just another stop on Europe’s winter market map.
