Program Description
Step into a world of royal history and Shakespearean drama with a visit to Kronborg Castle, an impressive Renaissance fortress overlooking the sea in Helsingør, Denmark. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the castle combines centuries of history, monumental architecture and literary fame - Kronborg is known worldwide as Hamlet's castle from William Shakespeare's famous play.
Explore the castle at your own pace and wander through its historic interiors, experiencing the setting associated with one of the most famous stories in world literature. As you walk through the castle halls and courtyard, soak up the atmosphere of a former royal residence and see one of Denmark's most important Renaissance fortresses.
During your visit, you can enter the ballroom and Renaissance Chapel before heading underground to explore the atmospheric casemates, revealing a completely different side of the castle. Your ticket also includes access to the temporary exhibition. Guided tours are available on selected days - please check availability upon arrival at the castle shop.
Kronborg's remarkable seaside location adds to the imposing character of the fortress. Surrounded by fortifications and cannons, the castle brings together history, architecture and literature, making it one of Denmark's most recognisable landmarks.
