Program Description
Discover Santo Domingo, the oldest city in the New World and the first permanent European settlement established by Christopher Columbus after the discovery of the Americas. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the city is home to some of the continent's most important colonial landmarks and over 500 years of fascinating history.
Your journey begins with a visit to Los Tres Ojos, a remarkable limestone cave system featuring crystal-clear underground lagoons. You will then continue to the historic centre of Santo Domingo, where a guided walking tour will take you through atmospheric streets and charming squares.
Visit the Cathedral of Santa María la Menor, recognised as the oldest cathedral in the Americas, and Alcázar de Colón, the former residence of Diego Columbus, son of Christopher Columbus. You will also stroll along Calle Las Damas, the oldest paved street in the Americas, and admire other important colonial monuments.
The excursion also includes a panoramic drive past the impressive Columbus Lighthouse, Santo Domingo's city centre and the Presidential Palace. There will also be free time to browse a colourful local souvenir market.
During the tour, you will enjoy a traditional Dominican lunch at a local restaurant.
The order of the itinerary and the programme may be subject to change.

Reviews
Great trip, great guide, Ms. Kasia, showed the city in a very interesting way. I recommend it. Beautiful city.
A great tour of the old town, a beautiful cave, and an exceptionally good souvenir shop. Plus, dinner at a restaurant with dance performances.
