Program Description
In this place, your eyes will not always give you the right answer. More than 50 interactive illusions have been designed to play with your perception and make familiar reality look completely different. It is a space where it is worth looking closely, changing your point of view and taking a moment to work out what is actually happening before your eyes.
As you explore the museum, you will move through rooms where light, shadow, space and perspective work together to create optical illusions. The careful arrangement of different elements can make proportions, directions and distances seem less obvious than they really are. Take your time, look at the installations from different angles and see how a small change in perspective can affect what you see.
Some of the scenes are designed for you to step right into the illusion. You can see yourself at a different scale, pose in an unusual setting or use the surroundings to create a photo that may be difficult to explain at first glance. Each perspective can create a different effect, so experiment and find the angle that shows each illusion at its best.
Alongside the optical effects, you will also find puzzles and interactive experiences that let you test how your mind interprets what your eyes see. There is no need to rush through the rooms - stop at the installations that catch your attention, look closely at the details and see if you can work out how the effects are created.
The museum also features unique installations created especially for this space. They were designed, built and perfected specifically for the museum, so you will not find them in other museums.
This experience is suitable for children, teenagers and adults, with everyone free to enjoy it in their own way. You can treat it as a fun activity, an opportunity to take unusual photos or simply a chance to see how easily your senses can be fooled.
