Program Description
Discover one of the most extraordinary islands of the Aegean Sea and feel the energy hidden beneath its surface. A cruise to Nisyros is a unique opportunity to see an active volcano up close, wander through the charming streets of a Greek island, and experience a place where nature remains truly untamed.
Your adventure begins in the port of Kardamena, where you will set off on an approximately one-hour cruise towards the island of Nisyros. The journey itself is a perfect chance to admire the views of the Aegean Sea and soak up the holiday atmosphere. Upon arrival, you will explore Mandraki – the charming capital of the island, where narrow streets, whitewashed houses and a relaxed pace of life create an authentic Greek setting.
During a guided walk, you will learn about the island’s history and visit a truly unique site – the Monastery of Panagia Spiliani, partly built into the rock. It is one of the most important landmarks on Nisyros, impressive not only for its architecture but also for its beautiful views over the surrounding area.
Next, you will travel across the island to reach its main highlight – the Nisyros volcano. Here, you will see the impressive Stefanos crater and descend into its interior, where you will feel the warmth of the ground beneath your feet and observe the rising sulphuric steam. This extraordinary experience allows you to witness the powerful natural forces that continue to shape the island. Comfortable footwear is recommended, as the terrain is uneven and the crater surface can be quite hot.
After visiting the volcano, you will return to Mandraki, where you will have free time to explore at your own pace – visit the monastery, enjoy lunch in a local taverna or browse the small souvenir shops. In the afternoon you will set off on the return cruise to Kardamena, ending a day full of memorable experiences and stunning views.
The order of visits and the programme may be subject to change.

Reviews
An attractive excursion to a rather exotic location, the volcanic crater. Stunning views of the rugged volcanic landscape. The tour of the town of Mandraki was rather cursory due to limited time.
Great trip, beautiful environment, great delegate
