Program Description
While exploring the island of Samos, you will discover one of its most picturesque spots - the Nightingale Valley, known for its lush vegetation, birdsong and pleasantly shaded trails. This experience is perfect for those who want to stay active, enjoy nature and see the authentic, mountainous side of the island.
Your day begins with a hotel pick-up and transfer to the starting point near Aidonia - Platanakia. From there, you will set off on a walk through a narrow valley along a small stream, accompanied by the soothing sounds of nature and the cool shade of trees. The trail leads through vineyards, olive groves and forest sections, allowing you to experience the traditional landscape of Samos. The first part of the walk follows a gentle circular route suitable for most participants.
You will then head towards the mountain village of Manolates - a charming settlement known for its stone houses, artistic workshops and peaceful atmosphere. Free time here allows you to explore local craft studios, enjoy a coffee or taste regional dishes in one of the traditional tavernas (meal not included). It is a wonderful opportunity to feel the true spirit of the island and discover its more intimate side.
After the break, you will continue along a path that runs across the valley slopes, gradually descending towards a small river. This stage of the walk lets you once again immerse yourself in the green scenery of northern Samos. Along the way, you will learn more about the island’s nature and history, deeply connected for centuries with vine cultivation and olive growing.
It is a day filled with movement, fresh air and views that will stay with you long after your holiday. If you are looking for a combination of light physical activity and discovering nature alongside traditional villages, this route will be an excellent choice.
The order of visits and the programme may be subject to change.
