Program Description

Set off on an exciting adventure from Húsavík – the world's whale watching capital – and experience the thrill of exploring Iceland’s Arctic waters aboard a high-speed RIB boat. Thanks to the boat’s speed and agility, you will reach the best whale watching areas quickly, giving you even more opportunities to encounter some of the ocean’s largest marine mammals.

The cruise takes you across Skjálfandi Bay, one of Iceland’s premier whale watching locations. Accompanied by an experienced whale watching guide, you will learn fascinating facts about these remarkable animals, their behaviour, migration routes and the unique marine ecosystem they inhabit.

The waters surrounding northern Iceland are home to 24 species of cetaceans. During the excursion, you are most likely to encounter humpback whales, minke whales, harbour porpoises and white-beaked dolphins. If luck is on your side, you may even spot the magnificent blue whale – the largest animal on Earth.

From mid-April to mid-August, the tour also includes a cruise to Puffin Island, where thousands of these iconic seabirds gather to breed. Around 70% of the world's Atlantic puffin population nests in Iceland, making this a fantastic opportunity to observe these charming birds in their natural habitat.

Throughout the journey, you will admire the rugged coastline of northern Iceland, spectacular fjords and the breathtaking scenery of the Arctic Ocean. Travelling by RIB offers a more dynamic and immersive experience, bringing you even closer to Iceland’s incredible wildlife and dramatic landscapes.

The order of visits and the programme may be subject to change.
