Morano Calabro and the Lavender Park

The first stop of the tour will be Morano Calabro - one of Calabria’s most picturesque hilltop towns, located at the foot of the Pollino massif. Walking through its historic centre, You will discover narrow streets, stone houses and the authentic atmosphere typical of southern Italian villages. Above the town rise the ruins of the Norman-Swabian castle, which reflect the region’s long history and offer spectacular views of the surrounding mountains.

The journey then continues to the remarkable Pollino Lavender Park, where You will be surrounded by the intense fragrance and vibrant colours of blooming lavender fields. Often described as Calabria’s own Provence, this peaceful place captivates visitors with its natural beauty and relaxing atmosphere. During the visit, You will discover around 60 varieties of lavender, including the local “loricanda” variety typical of the region.

A walk through the park with expert guides will give You the opportunity to learn more about lavender cultivation and the properties of this extraordinary plant. It is a wonderful way to relax in nature while admiring the beautiful landscapes of southern Calabria.
