Program Description

Behind the doors of the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam lies the story of an artist whose work continues to captivate people around the world. Each gallery reveals a different chapter of his life and artistic journey - from his early experiments with painting and the search for his own style to the stories behind his most celebrated masterpieces.

During your visit, you will see more than 200 paintings, drawings and letters by Vincent van Gogh, offering a unique insight into both his artistic development and his personality, inspirations and way of seeing the world. Among the highlights are world-famous works such as The Potato Eaters, Almond Blossom, Two Cut Sunflowers and Irises - paintings that have become true icons of art history.

But that's only the beginning. The museum's collection also includes works by artists who lived and worked during Van Gogh's lifetime, as well as French and Japanese prints that reveal the influences behind his distinctive artistic style. Your guide will enrich the experience with fascinating stories and insights, helping you see the artworks in a broader context and connect all these elements into one compelling story.

The museum has long been one of Amsterdam's most popular attractions and is a must-visit for anyone who wants to discover Van Gogh's work beyond his most famous paintings, gaining a deeper understanding of the experiences that shaped one of history's most celebrated artists.
