Program Description
Discover one of Sintra's most iconic landmarks and enjoy spectacular views over the town, the surrounding hills and the famous Pena Palace. A visit to the Moorish Castle in Sintra combines history, archaeology and some of the finest scenery in the region.
Walk along the ancient stone walls and follow the paths that wind through this 10th-century fortress. As you explore the castle, you'll learn about its role in protecting Sintra and how it became one of the area's most important historic sites.
The castle is also home to archaeological remains dating back to the Neolithic, Bronze Age and Iron Age, showing that people settled here thousands of years before the fortress was built. These discoveries offer a fascinating insight into the region's long history.
From the castle walls, you'll enjoy outstanding views across Sintra, the colourful Pena Palace and the surrounding landscape of the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park. It's the perfect place to appreciate the beauty of this UNESCO-listed region from a different perspective.

- Last admission is one hour before the venue closes.
