Program Description
Discover Colombo, the vibrant capital of Sri Lanka, where colonial heritage blends with modern architecture and a lively multicultural atmosphere. This full-day excursion takes you to the city's most important landmarks, historic districts and iconic attractions, ending with lunch overlooking Colombo's skyline.
After hotel pick-up, travel to Colombo, where your tour begins in the historic Fort district, once the administrative and military centre during British rule. Continue to Sea Street, famous for its jewellery shops, and explore the bustling Pettah district, renowned for its colourful markets and vibrant local trade.
The programme also includes a visit to a Hindu temple decorated with intricate stone carvings and the historic Wolvendaal Church, built by the Dutch in 1749. You'll then see a replica of the famous Aukana Buddha statue before visiting Independence Square, a landmark commemorating Sri Lanka's independence.
To conclude the day, enjoy lunch at the revolving restaurant in the iconic Lotus Tower, the tallest tower in South Asia, where spectacular panoramic views of Colombo provide the perfect ending to your city tour.
After the excursion, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

The beginning of the tour, the temple, and its ending at the tower were fantastic. Visiting the old church was completely pointless. You could even go to the postal museum. There are certainly more interesting places. Guide for 6th grade.
